Re: Roon Ready Certification

we have yet to submit the M21 to roon, we just completed the M3 and that was a lot of work and took a lot longer than we expected, roon made a lot of changes since we last did the M12 and M1 and caused unexpected work. However we do plan to schedule time with them for the M21, but it also requires t...

Re: Bricasti M3 voltage

the M3 internal power supplies are linear as such the transformers can be set to run at 220V or 240V nominal nominal AC inlet, and( 120, 200, 100V ), so when set to 220V this is the optimal setting if the power is at 220V for correct power and heat and headroom for low voltage drops. But in this cas...

Re: Roon Ready Certification

the difference is because airman's m3 is not updated to the full roon release, which requires a new streamer upgrade and upgrade to the M3 processor. in this release and certification they "required" us to report to the roon app about our filters, if not updated the M3 works fine but that ...

Re: Roon Ready Certification

the M3 does not perform sample rate conversion, and the way Roon is displaying it is misleading. To be more clear here is a brief explanation of how the PCM converter works in the M3. For PCM conversion we use a sigma delta converter from Analog Devices, the AD1955. This device was chosen as it allo...

Re: Roon Ready Certification

Yes and this is how the converters work for PCM in all our products as they use sigma delta type converters, including the M1, M12 and M21, for example in the earlier versions of the M1 we displayed this rate in but in the M3 we do not.

Re: Balanced XLR vs. unbalanced RCA analog outputs

the RCA out of the M1 is made for this use, you can just use it. If you wanted to use the balanced out of the M1 you can use a simple XLR to RCA adapter or cable, do not use a transformer, the adapter does the same thing to the balanced out as the RCA out of the M1, it takes the negative to ground t...

Re: HQ Player

I might point out that what ever app is being used, that when you are using the network " streamer " in the M21 the rendering is done in the M21 in our Linux core ARM processor, not in the app. What the app is doing is sending the file data to the M21 to be rendered and played out as a rea...

One of the reasons for creating this forum is a way to let our users ask us questions like this and for us to be able to inform them if thing like updates and upgrades to the products and to have more contact with our users. In the past we have upgraded the software in the M1 other products with a u...

Re: Handshake speeds?

I can point out that the router creates the IP addresses and controls the data flow in the network, everything passes via it, if it does not find the M21 ( actually M12 ) to assign it one, it will not work. It works directly to the router so its not an issue of speed and the router not finding it an...
